Ritual Laws And Eternal Commandments
The Law that Yahveh gave to Israel at Mount Sinai contained four divisions: Commandments (to the individual), Statutes
(for government administrations), Judgments (rulings and penalties in the breaking of either Commandments or Statutes)
and the Law of Ordinances (ritual laws).
"Abraham obeyed my voice and kept My charge, My
commandments, My statutes and My Laws." Genesis 26:5
Abraham followed Yahveh's commandments, statutes
and judgments at the time of his call 430 years before the Exodus under Moses. At Mount Sinai, Moses codified the laws
as the basis for Israel's new national government.
The book of Deuteronomy is the codification of these Laws by
Moses, and the Law is the Commandments, Statutes and Judgments. It doesn't contain the laws of Ordinance or Ritual.
This law is found in the book of Leviticus. It was added when Moses was on the mount with Yahveh. Thinking he
was up there too long the people got tired of waiting for his return and demanded that Aaron make them a golden calf to worship,
which he did, even though he knew it was wrong.
"Yahveh said unto Moses: Go, get thee down; for thy people which thou brought out of the land
of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them." Exodus
32:7-8
This transgression happened immediately after Israel entered into a covenant with Yahveh. It showed that
they were unable to live righteously by FAITH, therefore the Ordinances, or the laws of SACRIFICE, were ADDED to Israel's
constitution as a schoolmaster to bring them about the Messiah. These Ordinances in Leviticus gave the sacrificial
requirements in order to make atonement for sin. It usually required the sacrifice of an animal whose blood, shed
upon the altar, would be a propitiation for their transgression. This was the law that was added because of it. (Galations
3:15) It was the ritual laws that were nailed to the Cross, and in NO WAY did this nullify the requirements contained
in the Commandments, Statutes and Judgments.
"And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, (Yahveh Yahshua) the Righteous.
And He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins; and not for ours only but also for those of the whole world. And
by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His Commandments." I John 2:1-3
The Bible makes
this very clear and any attempt to misconstrue the scriptural intent is SIN in itself.
Those who say they are
no longer required to live by Yahveh's Commandments, Statutes and Judgments do not understand the origin and the purpose of
these laws. This might explain their aversion to Yahveh's Divine Laws but in no way whatsoever does it excuse them
for their sins.
In summery, Hebrews chapter 10 and Galations chapter 3 the word "law" refers to the
"ritual laws" as described in the book of Leviticus.
